Australia’s Palazzo Versace hotel wants you to pay $1,750 to shop

A hotel on Australia’s Gold Coast — the flashy party zone roughly equivalent to the certain parts of Miami — wants to charge you top dollar to shop in style.

Gold Coast shoppers can now drink champagne while being chauffeured around to the finest shops via Rolls Royce with assistance from a stylist and personal shopper — for $1,750.

That’s right! Those wanting to participate in Hotel Palazzo Versace’s Glamour E Lusso Experience will have to fork over the hefty sum for the privilege — of spending even more money. Not to mention, a whopping additional $900 is expected for each guest. Apparently in certain circles it costs money to spend money!

Champagne and fancy car ride aside, the fee includes a meet-and-greet with stylist Simone Bennett-Smith at the hotel’s Versace boutique (shocker!). Then it’s on to the Pacific Fair shopping center. where participants will embark on a three-hour tour of the center’s most high-end section, The Resort.

Once everyone has sufficiently shopped until they dropped (more cash, that is) the Rolls will take them back to their hotel. (A stay at the Main Beach hotel is not required.)

The pricey experience is the brainchild of the hotel’s new general manager, Claire Huang, in the hopes of attracting more international big spenders to the luxury resort.

“We can always do better, particularly with Japan and the Chinese, who are big spenders,” Huang explained to the Daily Mail.
