Georgina rescues 24 li’l Puerto Rican puppies

Heiress, philanthropist and noted animal fancier Georgina Bloomberg has a soft spot for third-world poochs. And this time, 24 lucky puppies got a first-class ticket from Puerto Rico to Palm Beach.

Bloomberg posted several photos on her Instagram with some of the rescue dogs she was bringing to the state via private jet.

“Meeting just a few of the 24 dogs coming back to Florida with us tomorrow from the Vieques Humane Society to find their forever homes,” she wrote. “They will all be available for adoption through the incredibly generous Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League in West Palm Beach.”

The trip cost approximately $7,000 each way on the$24 million private jet, according to the Daily Mail. And this isn’t the first time, Bloomberg has rescued dogs from the U.S. territory.  She rescued 10 dogs in Puerto Rico in November 2015.

Last week, Bloomberg faced criticism from other animal lovers after she revealed that she was romantically involved with Carlos Arruza Jr, a trophy-game hunter and oil company executive.
