Owner of gilded UES manse lists pad for $42M

22 East 64th Street

A nearly 11,000-square-foot mansion in Lenox Hill has hit the market asking $42 million.

Built by architect John Duncan for stockbroker Henry Goldschmidt in 1903, the gilded pad at 22 East 64th Street at Madison Avenue boasts parquet floors, oak paneling and its original marble staircase, according to the listing. A stained-glass skylight and 10 marble wood-burning fireplaces also add to the amenities scattered among the property’s 22 rooms.

The Corcoran Group’s Carrie Chiang and Richard Phan have the listing.

Current owner Hemant Shah, cofounder and CEO of software firm and risk modeling company Risk Management solutions, picked up the pad for $17.6 million in 2004. [Curbed]Julie Strickland
