Producer Bob Weinstein, who co-founded the Weinstein Company and Miramax Films with his brother Harvey, has listed a massive townhouse at 39 West 70th Street for $19 million, per city records.
Looking at the listing photos, we get the feeling Weinstein is a big fan of wood; the listing notes there is “period-correct” wood paneling in many of the rooms, and the home gym with a basketball court (on the fifth floor) is even lined in it. The 6,608-square-foot home has five bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms, five fireplaces, two balconies, a roof deck, an elevator and clawfoot tubs. It has been pre-wired for an AV system.
The Weinsteins have produced many critically-acclaimed movies, including “Pulp Fiction,” “The King’s Speech,” and “Silver Linings Playbook.”
Weinstein and his ex-wife Annie Clayton paid $15 million for the home in 2009. According to the listing, with Deborah Grubman, David Adler and Paul Albano of Corcoran, it has not been lived in since the renovation.
