When Meg Ryan met this Soho loft … she made it really beautiful.
The actress has just listed a dreamy apartment she owns at 84 Mercer Street for $10.9 million, reports the Wall Street Journal.
Recently featured in Architectural Digest’s October issue, the apartment is the ninth home Ryan has renovated. According to her broker, Barbara Hochhauser of the Corcoran Group, she has decided to sell because she is looking for another project.
The apartment is 4,100 square feet in size and encompasses the entire fifth floor of the building, with two bedrooms (plus an additional sleeping area) and three bathrooms. It has ebonized wood flooring, black lacquered cabinets, a 40-foot gallery with windows facing Mercer Street, 12-foot ceilings, a media room where Ryan presumably enjoyed many films and eight closets in the master bedroom (!).
Ryan paid $8 million in 2013 for the unit, which she bought from the actor Hank Azaria. According to city records, it was also owned for a time by the photographer Cindy Sherman. Ryan told AD that Sherman used it as a studio. [WSJ]
