The $25 million penthouse at 11 North Moore Street is now the unit formerly known as the penthouse at 11 North Moore Street.
Celebrity brokers Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes appear to have ditched the spread’s previous designation, and the 7,061-square-foot pad is now known simply as the 9th Floor. Not as catchy, we’ve got to say.
Settle down and get comfortable because the pad — whatever you see fit to name it — has got quite a history. It first hit the market in 2014 for a pretty whopping $40 million. Then Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio took a peek at the place. In 2015, the price was chopped to a pinch under $30 million, and that same year F1 star Lewis Hamilton also took a gander (to no avail). Then last year, we saw the home featured on Million Dollar Listings New York, discounted for a third time and listed as a $75,000 a month rental. Got that?
This time round, the only thing that’s changed is its name.
The word penthouse typically refers to one unit on the top floor of a building. But in recent years developers have increasingly used the term to describe multiple units on upper floors, reportedly in order to get top dollar.
The unit comes with five bedrooms, a whole host of windows, private elevator entry, a double-height great room, a chef’s kitchen, a private master floor and a private roof terrace with a pool.
LLNYC reached out to the Douglas Elliman brokers and will update you if we get a response.
