Beloved New York restauranteur Danny Meyer is partnering with Fosun Group on a $30 million restaurant and event space atop the downtown office tower 28 Liberty Street.
It was first announced that Meyer and his Union Square Hospitality Group was attached to the project back in 2016, and now we know that the sky-high space will take up the entire 60th floor — spanning 38,000 square feet. About one-third of the floor will be a bar and dining area, the rest will be event space that can host 800 people, the New York Post reported.
Woods Bagot, which also designed the Baccarat Hotel in Midtown, will be the architect for the yet-to-be-named project.
Meyer is the man behind a host of New York favorites: Union Square Cafe, Gramercy Tavern, Blue Smoke and Shake Shack. He used to own Eleven Madison Park, the expensive eatery famed for its tasting menu, that’s headed to the Hamptons this summer.
