Now that Emmy Rossum successfully negotiated her way to a higher salary on her show “Shameless,” we suppose she can afford to buy a more expensive apartment!
The actress just sold her co-op at 455 East 57th Street for $1.1 million, per city records. Rossum hired interior designer Antonino Buzzetta to re-do the place after she bought it in 2015 for $720,000, and detailed the renovation in a piece in Elle Decor. The look she said she was going for was “chic, European, the look of a modern girl who has inherited her grandmother’s stuff. I wanted it to have a young energy, but with old-fashioned touches.”
All of the pieces in the apartment are new to the apartment, though some of them — like a marble fireplace from Paris — are antiques.
According to the listing, with Leslie Modell of Sotheby’s, the apartment is a one-bedroom (though it notes it could be converted into a two-bedroom), with one bathroom, herringbone floors, 12 casement windows, custom closets and an extra storage room.
