If Tim Burton was raised in the land down under and studied interior design with Edward Gorey, we’re still not sure he could have created pieces as frightening and surreal as these. Australian designer Trent Jansen has designed a line of furniture based on his home country’s folklore and it is like nothing else you’ve ever seen.
The furniture is a collaboration between Jansen and local studio Broached Commissions, according to Dezeen, and they were completed over the course of five years. All of the pieces blend folkloric creatures, with real animals to created furniture that will scare you half to death during a late night trip to the kitchen.
