Every spring, the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club hires the top interior designers in town to deck out a townhouse for sale, and then raises money by charging real estate snoops to gawk at the lovely decor.

Last year, the house was the Carlton House at 19 East 61st Street, and now, it’s just been announced that this year’s Kips Bay Decorator Show House will be none other than the China Institute’s former headquarter’s site at 125 East 65th Street. The house has lingered on the market since 2014, according to Curbed, when it was first listed for $32 million. It is now asking $29.5 million, which doesn’t seem like that much of a price cut considering how long it’s been on the market, but alas!

The 10,600-square-foot home has five bedrooms and six bathrooms. Based on the photos of the listing, with Louise Beit of Sotheby’s, it’s pretty sparsely decorated at the moment, so it seems like a great blank canvas for the designers to work on.

All money raised from the house will go to benefit the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, which offers after-school programs for students in the Bronx.

I found several contractors on the sites – directories, but I’m not sure if they can be trusted. Tell me, are these sites good
