Elon Musk better give Karl Lagerfeld a call; after the designer’s¬†latest stunt, we have a feeling that the¬†chicer space tourists will now refuse to¬†settle for anything less than a Chanel-branded rocket ship.

In a move that must have cost the brand god-only-knows how much money, Lagerfeld commissioned such a rocket ship to launch (a few feet) during his Fall 2017 show at the Grand Palais in Paris this morning. The whole thing was set to Elton John’s “Rocket Man,” and it was probably the first time in history that people were more interested in taking pictures of it than Kendall Jenner (who walked in the show).

Oh and as for the clothes, they were a space age-inspired take on Chanel favorites. Think wool dresses and shiny. glittery knee-high boots.

Based on Instagram, though, we¬†have a feeling no one was really looking at the clothes at all; pretty much all of the pictures from the show that we can see are of — you guessed it– that rocket.
