250 West Street penthouse undergoes price chop

The sprawling 7,250-square-foot penthouse at 250 West Street in Tribeca — which was most recently listed for $39.5 million—now comes with a $3.5 million discount, according to StreetEasy.

For $36 million, the lucky buyer can now get protected river views, a 1,438-square-foot private entrance at ground level, a 4,298-square-foot irrigated terrace, as well as a built-in television in the master bathroom’s steam shower.

The spread also comes with four bedrooms, four bathrooms and one half bathroom, according to the listing.

Leonard Steinberg and Raphael De Niro of Douglas Elliman nabbed the listing this past November, StreetEasy shows. Cantor and Pecorella had the listing before Elliman — they put the home on the market for $42 million last April before delisting it entirely that June.

“The price reduction is an adjustment that we feel will elevate interest and also have those that came in to see it, who may have thought the price a bit rich, revisit it,” Steinberg told LLNYC. “Recent signed contract pricing in Tribeca certainly supports this price now.”

Does the 250 West Street address sound familiar? Rumors circulated over the summer that Leonardo DiCaprio had purchased this penthouse. However, the rumors were false. — Zachary Kussin
