This new marijuana company is attracting the coolest (and most famous) kids in town

Luxury marijuana services are a dime-a-dozen these days, but a new one — Beboe — has the attention and the backing of some of the coolest kids in town.

In a new article in the Times (headlined: “The Hermès of Marijuana“), the founders of Beboe share their vision for the noble work they hope to achieve.

“There’s always that moment, like at the Chateau Marmont, where you’ll go to this dinner, and then at one point in the meal, between entrees and desserts, a handful of people will sneak off into the bushes and smoke a joint,” said one of the co-founders, Scott Campbell, the celebrity tattoo artist who is married to the actress Lake Bell. “We’re just trying to make it so they don’t have to leave the table.”

Campbell’s co-founder, Clement Kwan, is the former president of  luxury retailer Yoox North America and business projects manager for Dolce & Gabbana.

Between the two men, they have a good number of celebrity friends, and they all came out Thursday night for a fancy dinner in West Hollywood to celebrate the brand’s launch. The wares include disposable, rose gold vaporizers ($60) and low-dose edible pastilles ($25).

Of course, even with all these celebrity connections, Beboe is still going to face some stiff competition; to name just a couple of their competitors, there’s the delivery service with cannabis bath bombs and body oils and the service that uses models as delivery people.
