You can soon get drunk on Game of Thrones wine

Want to drink like Tyrion?

Well now you can! A new wine has hit the market, based on the HBO series “Game of Thrones.” Released by the network and created by California winemaker Bob Cabral, the collection features red blend, chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon varieties.

The red blend offers “dark black cherry, brambly blackberry, vanilla and cocoa aromas,” and is touted as best “served at feasts, paired with hearty meats, roasts and blackbird pie, poured at Small Council sessions.” The Chardonnay boasts “enticing aromas of stone fruit and white blossoms lead to a rich, creamy palate of peaches, apricots, tangerine, Meyer lemon, baking spices and honey, balanced by mouth-watering acidity.” The Cabernet Sauvignon is “a wine worthy of the Iron Throne.”

The Game of Thrones Wines site notes that the vino was created to “match the strength of the characters and the terrain of their kingdoms.” They are perfect for those wanting to truly immerse themselves in the fantasy by drinking while watching reruns — the new season doesn’t debut until July. Or perhaps they can be used to create new drinking games — down a glass every time a character goes medieval on someone’s ass.

No word on whether they actually taste good, but people just buy wine based on the label anyway, right?  Go grab some online or in stores this spring for $19.99 a bottle.
