Talk about flipping out. Just weeks after spending $21.8 million on a 55th floor penthouse at Tribeca’s “jenga building” 56 Leonard, its owners have re-listed it with a $28 million price tag.
The $6.2 million price increase equates to a bump of roughly $182,000 for each of the 34 days the anonymous Leonard Street Properties LLC owned the 5,186-square-foot unit.
Brokers Alexa Lambert and Marc Achilles of Stribling are handling the sale of the penthouse, which comes with four bedrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, 14-foot-high ceilings, a large open plan living space, a wood burning fireplace, an exercise room and two terraces.
Prior to the purchase, the pad was asking $27.5 million.
This isn’t the first time a buyer at building has attempted a seriously speedy flip; in February a unit on the 53rd floor hit the market asking $35 million. The mystery owner had paid $29 million for it in late January. The spread is still up for grabs.
