Musical chairs: Penthouse-owning couple buys a second unit to use as office

Riki and Robert Larimer made their money selling cocktail accoutrements — and now, they’ve spent a small fortune on a one-bedroom at 400 East 51st Street, where the couple already own a penthouse. The Larimers, who recently sold their company, Metrokane, Inc. — which makes bar accessories, including the ever-popular Rabbit corkscrew — just purchased a 1,100-square-foot pad at the building for $1.4 million, according to the New York Observer. They still own a penthouse there, with outdoor space and original herringbone floors, for which they paid $2.83 million in 2003. The couple intend to renovate the new space to use as an office for their latest endeavor: writing and producing musicals. It will also be used to house guests. Read the story here.
