Forget a glass cube on Fifth Avenue (which you can’t even access right now). In our oh-so-humble opinion, the Apple store in Dubai just upped the ante for being the fanciest, most Instagram-worthy and, perhaps even the coolest branch in the world.
The store, the tech company’s third in the UAE, opened yesterday to large crowds eager to snap selfies of themselves and then charge their phones for free. Per Apple, the store was designed to be a “space for the community to gather, learn and be entertained,” hence the curved balcony that offers a view of the Dubai Fountain (and its evening shows).
Designed by New York architects Foster + Partners, the store also features some pretty incredible window panels, called “Solar Wings,” which open and close based on the temperature outside. The store will offer live music shows, talks from famous people and teaching workshops.
One question: do we still need an appointment to get our cracked iPhones screens fixed? Because, honestly, that’s kind of all we ever need to do at the Apple store.
