Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a $750 margarita

If you’re headed to Miami this week take note. DÔA Miami Beach is getting ready to take Cinco de Mayo to a whole nother level. For one day only mixologist Josue Gonzalez will be shaking up $750 margaritas.

The Allaire Royal Gold Margarita — served in a Waterford Crystal margarita glass, rimmed with hand-harvested Ibizan sea salt — is set to be a mix of Allaire Collection Privee Tequila, fresh lime juice and French orange-flavored liqueur Grand Marnier.

And naturally, because this is a $750 margarita it will be shaken in a 24-carat gold-plated shaker, and garnished with 24-carat gold flakes and a 24-carat gold-encrusted lime slice.

Wealthy imbibers will be getting more than just a drink though, they get to take home the crystal glass, the gold leaf, a silver-plated serving platter, a gold plated mixing spoon and gold plated straws.

Have no fear if you’re not headed to Miami though, we have the recipe below so you can partake in your own $750 tipple (if you happen to have the required amount of gold on hand).
