Live la vida loca in Desmond Child’s Fifth Avenue co-op

Songwriter extraordinaire, Desmond Child, has just listed his grand co-op apartment at 1215 Fifth Avenue for $4.5 million.

Child — whose real name is John Charles Barrett — completely renovated the apartment, which takes up a full-floor of the co-op. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, “art-deco” moldings, glorious park-facing windows, a wood burning fireplace, a chef’s kitchen and a Crestron system.

Child is a Grammy nominee and a member of the Songwriter Hall of Fame. Among the songs he is best known for writing are: Kiss’ “I Was Made for Lovin’ You,” Jon Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “You Give Love a Bad Name,” “Bad Medicine” and “Born to Be My Baby”; Aerosmith’s “Dude (Looks Like a Lady), “Angel”, “What It Takes” and “Crazy”; Cher’s “We All Sleep Alone” and “Just Like Jesse James”; Alice Cooper’s “Poison”; and Ricky Martin’s “The Cup of Life” and “Livin’ la Vida Loca” (which was nominated for “Song of the Year at the 2000’s Grammy Awards).
