A bronze sculpture by modernist Constantin Brancusi sold for $57.37 million in New York Monday, setting a new auction record for the artist.

The sculpture of a sleeping woman’s head, titled ‘La muse endormie,’ sold for morethan twice its lowest pre-sale estimate, Christie’s told the Daily Mail.

Made in 1913, the sculpture sold to an anonymous bidder. The pre-sale estimate was just $25 million to $35 million.
