“Wave Walk” sees celeb-designed sculptures pop up across NYC

A collection of 52 artist and celebrity designed sculptures arrived in New York City this weekend. The wave-inspired spherical sculptures — designed by the likes of Keith Richards, Suki Waterhouse, Dustin Yellin and Cara Delevingne — are part of a project called “Wave Walk.”

Luxury skin care brand La Mer teamed up with ocean conservation organization Project 0 for the project, which will see the pieces across the five boroughs including two on Roosevelt Island, until June 21.

The timing of “Wave Walk” coincides with World Oceans Day on June 8, and interested parties can place bid for the sculptures online. The final auction will be June 21 with all proceeds going to the La Mer Blue Heart Oceans Fund for Project 0, a charity fund to protect the ocean.

Currently La Mer’s silver, metallic sculpture “Reflections” has the highest bid at $3,250. Keith Richard’s “Human Tide” is in second place at $2,000, and Siena Miller’s “Rhapsody in Blue” comes in at third with a current bid of $1,600.
