Pizza and toy mogul buys $15M UES penthouse

Dave Brandon, CEO of Toys “R” Us and chairman of the board of directors of Domino’s Pizza, has bought an apartment at Extell’s Carlton House at 21 East 61st Street for $15.28 million, per city records.

Brandon has been the head of Toys “R” Us since 2015, and was CEO of Domino’s from 1999 until 2010. Between his executive gigs, he was the athletic director at the University of Michigan. His tenure was controversial due to his raising ticket prices for students (though he did make Michigan sports more valuable overall) and for admitting that an injured quarterback had been allowed to play after exhibiting signs of a concussion.

Brandon also made an appearance on season three of President Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice.”

This penthouse unit has three bedrooms (plus a library that can be converted into a fourth bedroom), four and a half bathrooms, 3,500 square feet of interior space and 1,120 square feet of outdoor space, including a terrace with views of Central Park. Brandon also purchased what appears to be a storage unit along with the apartment.
