New listing aims to become Roosevelt Island’s most expensive home

A new listing on Roosevelt Island is the most expensive that the narrow little East River isle has ever seen, and if it sells for its $2 million ask, it’ll set a new record.

The three-bedroom condo at 415 Main Street hit the market earlier this month. Located on the seventh floor of the 16-story building, the 1,433-square-foot pad comes with floor-to-ceiling windows, a chef’s kitchen, granite counter tops, marble bathroom and access to amenities including a fitness center, yoga studio and roof terrace. It’s current owners paid $1.18 million for the spread in 2009, city records show.

Corcoran’s Ben Garama has the listing. Garama set the current record last year when he sold another unit in the same building for $1.75 million, Bloomberg reports.

“My job as a broker is always to push the envelope,” Garama said to Bloomberg. “Yes, it’s a new threshold, it’s a new price for the island, but it makes sense because I know we can get it.”
