Rolls-Royce has unveiled what is thought to be the most expensive new car ever commissioned, but even if you did have the bags and bags and bags of money required to buy it, you can’t. Only one was built: for the person who commissioned it.
Christened the “Sweptail,” Rolls-Royce said the car was custom-made for one of its most valued customers. Described as a “connoisseur,” the customer is reportedly a collector of super-yachts and private aircraft.
The Telegraph reported that the car cost around £10 million (roughly $12.9 million), (though Rolls Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös told CNBC that figure was “speculation”). Though but did note that the car was “substantially expensive.”
The car has no end of swanky and personalized details, but none more impressive than the one-off hand-built mechanism that at the touch of a button, will deploy a bottle of the client’s favorite vintage champagne – the year of his birth – and two crystal champagne flutes.
