Academy Award-winning actress Natalie Portman has just shelled out a cool $6.5 million on an equally cool home in Montecito, California.

Located at 705 Toro Canyon Road, the home sits on 10.4 acres, and was designed by Barton Meyers. Garage doors separate the inside of the home from the outside, meaning that when they are raised, the whole thing turns into a type of treehouse. Or as the listing puts it, the doors create a “chic, integrated living experience.” The 3,991-square-foot home has four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, a new pool and views forever.

Portman joins a pretty elite crew of Hollywood celebrities in Montecito; Oprah has a 42-estate there called the “Promised Land,” Kevin Costner owns a tiny beach home on a whole lotta land he is trying to sell for $60 million, and Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are selling their estate for $45 million.

Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency had the listing, which was last asking $6.995 million. [TMZ]
