After Dolce & Gabbana made the controversial choice to celebrate First Lady Melania Trump’s decision to wear its clothes, many fans of the brand promised to boycott it. Now, Stefano Gabbana has responded to his brand’s detractors directly by releasing a t-shirt emblazoned with the message #BOYCOTT Dolce & Gabbana.
Gabbana announced the release of the shirt with a video on Instagram, in which Italians wearing the shirt chant “Boycott, boycott!” while Kylie Minogue’s “All the Lovers” plays sweetly in the background. We’re not totally sure what all of this is supposed to mean but everyone looks like they’re having fun (and it’s still an improvement on Pepsi’s protest ad). Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are among the people protesting.
Being Dolce & Gabbana, the simple cotton t-shirt shirt (naturally) costs $245 and can be pre-ordered on its website. We have no idea who would actually order such a shirt, except possibly Queen Melania herself.
