Nobody wants to be king, according to Prince Harry

Is it good to be the king? To us, it sounds like it involves sitting on one of the most lavish seats in the world, wearing a jewel-laden crown and living in Buckingham Palace. But despite the work perks, it seems that nobody is keen on being the next in line to the throne.

At least not according to Prince Harry.

“Is there any one of the royal family who wants to be king or queen? I don’t think so, but we will carry out our duties at the right time,” Harry said to the UK magazine Newsweek.

In the candid interview, in which he discussed the death of his mother Diana Princess of Wales, Harry also spoke of his determination — along with William and Kate — to modernize the monarch.

“The monarchy is a force for good and we want to carry on the positive atmosphere that the Queen has achieved for over 60 years, but we won’t be trying to fill her boots,” he said.
