Remember spending thousands of dollars on test prep materials and tutoring for college? Well we can at least (partially) tell you where all that money went. Jonathan Grayer, the former chairman and CEO of the test prep company Kaplan, has just listed his apartment in the Beresford at 211 Central Park West for $6.4 million.
Grayer paid $3.8 million for the apartment in 2012. According to the listing, with Lisa Lippmann and Gerard Moore of Brown Harris Stevens, the unit has three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a 27-foot gallery, a fireplace, a library/dining room, 10-foot ceilings and a Savant Home Automation system.
Grayer left Kaplan in 2008 after growing it to a multi-billion dollar company, and reportedly received an $80 million severance package upon leaving. He currently acts as chairman and CEO for Weld North, an investment firm. He sold his other home, an 11,500-square-foot waterfront mansion in Rye, New York, in 2015 for a hair under $9 million.
