Zaha Hadid Design released a table inspired by princess Leia’s buns

The only thing as iconic as Princess Leia herself, are her buns.

In honor of the Rebel Alliance leader (played by the late Carrie Fischer), Zaha Hadid Design and Leblon Delienne collaborated on a table inspired by Princess Leia’s signature hairstyle.

Le-a Table features a flat plane surface interrupted by a corkscrew design, which stabilizes the table as well as mimics the silhouette of her hair. The stunning, sculptural piece is available in black, pearl white, silver or brass — and comes with the hefty price tag of $20,000.

According to Dezeen, this is not the first “Star Wars”-inspired product from Hadid. The late architect designed a desk based on a headdress worn by Queen Amidala for a Disney event in London last year.

There’s no denying that Zaha Hadid Design and Leblon Delienne were a perfect pairing for this collaboration. Hadid’s design firm boasts an aesthetic that is “perfectly in line with “Star Wars” pop culture, science fiction, futurist style,” they told Dezeen, while Leblon Delinne specializes in pop culture-based furniture.
