Gwyneth Paltrow may want to heal the world on Goop, but her new house in California is certainly not helping her neighbors feel good.
The movie star/lifestyle guru is building a 14,000-square-foot mansion in the celebrity enclave of Montecito, California, and both the construction and the plans for what the home will look like have sparked anger from those who live nearby.
“She’s created an uproar with neighbors on all three sides,” a spokesperson for one of the neighbors told Page Six, adding that her plans have left “a trail of tears.”
Neighbors claim Paltrow’s home is going to be an eyesore in every sense of the word; it’s too big, too tall, will block their views and doesn’t fit in with the aesthetic of the other homes.
The Montecito Board of Architectural Review approved Paltrow’s plans last week, though the neighbors believe those plans did not accurately represent the height of her new home. [NYP]
