Many restaurant owners and patrons abhor the presence of phones at the dinner table — others have thrown in the towel.

A new restaurant in Soho — London, that is —  is offering diners free “foodie Instagram packs” with their meal. The restaurant Dirty Bones hopes diners will capture the perfect snap of #foodporn and to aid in that mission they provide “a portable LED light, multi-device charger, clip-on wide-angle lens, tripod, and a selfie stick.” Think of it as a new fangled “Happy Meal” for the millennial set.

Think I just found my new phone background. #YolkPorn for days.

While it may make some social media averse diners lose their appetites,  the restaurant’s gimmicky offering does makes sense. Those addicted to Instagram provide free advertising for the chain, so why not make it easier for them to do so? A rep from Dirty Bones told Mashable of the “importance of Instagram in present-day foodie culture.”

“We wanted to put together something that made it easier to get that perfect shot regardless of the lighting or time of day. It’s key for us to make sure that people are getting the best possible shots of all our dishes and drinks,” the rep said.

In fact, they are going all-in on embracing IG culture. The menu is dictated by “what’s trending,” exploiting hashtags like like fish tacos and avocado eggs Benedict. Cocktails are also pretty as a picture, including a pink one with rainbow sprinkles around the rim. The decor screams #vibes.

We wonder what the NY Post’s outspoken food critic Steve Cuozzo would have to say about this?  [Mashable]
