Is it any wonder that a beauty expert would have an absolutely beautiful apartment? Makeup artist and entrepreneur Laura Mercier, founder of — you guessed it — Laura Mercier Cosmetics, has just listed her apartment at Walker Tower for $11.15 million, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Mercier paid $5.9 million for the apartment in 2013 and was one of the first to buy in the art deco building after it was converted into condos. She tells the Journal she is selling because she wants to focus on growing her business in her native France, where she currently has three homes (one in Paris, two in Provence). She says she plans to keep a smaller pied-a-terre in New York.
Her 2,150-square-foot condo in Walker Tower is listed with Vickey Barron of Corcoran, and has two bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. The building is perhaps most famous for its penthouse, which set the record for the most expensive downtown sale when it closed in 2014 for $50.9 million. [WSJ]
