Johnny Depp’s legal battle with his accountants continues to be the most entertaining thing he’s done in years. From it, we’ve learned important details, like his refusal to fly coach and that he once paid $5 million to shoot Hunter S. Thompson’s ashes out of a canon.
Now, thanks to the firm’s second amended countersuit against him, we can add a few more crazy items to the list of things he’s bought. Namely, their suit claims he spent $500,000 on rental fees to store his Hollywood collectibles, $17,000 on Prada luggage and — our personal favorite — $7,000 on a couch that appeared on “Keeping up with the Kardashians” as a gift to his daughter, Lily Rose. How sweet?
Depp started this whole disaster when he sued his management firm, TMG, in January for $25 million for mishandling his finances. Since then, TMG has fired back, claiming they routinely told Depp he was spending more than he was earning, and that Depp continued to make poor financial decisions. The battle continues to rage, and we cannot get enough of it. Can we get some popcorn over here? [HR]
