Stella McCartney was looking for $30,000 a month for her Hamptons getaway, but the listing was abruptly pulled from the open market after several articles about her house were posted online.
McCartney was outed as the owner of the Hamptons beach cottage on Napeague Bay first by Variety, and several other publications picked up the news. Then it was gone. Listing brokers Chris Coleman who is marketing the property with his partner at Saunders & Associates, Melissa Green, noted that the listing was pulled in response to the coverage. However, he declined to comment further. So technically, we don’t know whether a renter was found, although we suspect it is still on the market as a whisper listing.
Last August, LLNYC reported that the fashion designer daughter Paul McCartney and her husband Alasdhair Willis, the creative director of Hunter boots, paid $1.5 million for the 1,350-square-foot, three-bedroom property on Bay View Avenue in Amagansett.
