Phase two of the most epic restaurant shake up in recent memory is here. After shutting down the iconic Four Seasons restaurant, Aby Rosen, Major Food Group and a Trump appointee reopened the old Grill Room, now The Grill. But power lunchers have been laying in wait for the return of the best seats in the house: the old Pool Room.
They have also removed “those four shitty fake trees,” as managing partner Jeff Zalaznick once called them. They’ve also added a “nautical touches” like aquatic plants and old ship lights repurposed as warming lamps for the kitchen.
The biggest change is that the old private event space off the old Pool Room is now a chic tropical cocktail lounge with a backlit liquor cabinet. Grub Street tells us to think watermelon with white rum, shiso, and lime; and banana with tequila, amontillado sherry, and young ginger.
