The scandals of Fyre Fest continue to burn bright. And honestly, we’re pretty happy about that because it’s one of the most entertaining incidents to happen this year.

Today’s update concerns the organizer of the event, Billy McFarland. It seems the young man — who is only 25 years old — has been accused of forging documents that he showed investors to get them to fork over millions of dollars. If you’re thinking, hmmm, that sounds like fraud, you would be right!

“As alleged, William McFarland promised a ‘life changing’ music festival but in actuality delivered a disaster,” Manhattan U.S. Attorney Joon Kim said in a statement.

McFarland is reportedly seeking a plea deal. If charged, McFarland could face up to 20 years in prison. He was arrested on June 30th with accusations of wire fraud, and is currently free on $300,000 bail.

This is just one of many, many charges filed agains McFarland. So expect to be hearing about Fyre Festival for a long, long time.
