An estate in Southampton that was once owned by Henry Ford has just hit the market asking a whopping $175 million, the Real Deal reports.
The seller is portfolio manager Brenda Earl, and if she gets anywhere near the asking price for this place, she’ll have hit a record for the priciest sold property in the country (that record is currently held by another Hamptons property, Barry Rosenstein’s $147 million house in East Hampton).
Set on 42 acres, the property at 90 Jule Pond — known as Fordune — features a 20,000-square-foot home with 12 bedrooms and bathrooms; a greenhouse and a carriage house with another three bedrooms; basketball and tennis courts; a 60-foot pool; a garage that can accommodate at least six cars; and almost 1,300 feet of prime ocean frontage on the Atlantic.
Earl bought the estate in 2002 for an unknown price. Bespoke Real Estate has the listing.
