On Tuesday night, revelers gathered in various spots around New York City, waiting to learn the secret location of this year’s seventh annual Dîner en Blanc event.
That location was Lincoln Center, where the event had also been held in 2012. Thousands of people crowded into the Plaza to enjoy their prepared feasts (as well as the visual feast of all the costumes on display), and a host of musical acts like the pianist Eric Lewis, the sopranos Samantha Jeffreys and Andrea Chinedu Nwoke and the Brooklyn United Marching Band.
Really, though, the most exciting thing to do at the event was people watch. Dîner en Blanc requires everyone dress in white. From there, people took artistic freedom, donning everything from glow-in-the-dark ensembles to lavish Marie Antoinette-themed costumes.
