Confused Tiffany Trump rep asked literary magazine for a fashion week invite

Harper’s Magazine is the oldest monthly magazine in the country, covering politics, arts and culture in thoughtful, (very) long, intellectual pieces. While it may publish the occasional think piece on fashion, it certainly isn’t known as a fashion magazine.

Harper’s Bazaar, on the other hand, is a fashion glossy, and when Tiffany Trump wanted to attend its big hoedown on Friday at the Plaza for New York Fashion Week, her publicist reportedly got a little confused.

“Hi, I wanted to email on behalf of the First Daughter Tiffany Trump. She is in town for NYFW and attending a few events. She would love to possibly attend the Bazaar Icons party. Please let me know if this could be accommodated,” her rep reportedly wrote.

It’s a fine email — except she sent it to Harper’s, not Harper’s Bazaar.

“I was tempted to create a Harper’s Magazine fashion icon event just so we could host her. Think Byzantine art, Jesus and the Madonna, the original one!” Giulia Melucci, Harper’s publicist told the Daily News.

Somehow, we don’t think that’s what Tiffany was looking for. [DN]
