Just in time for New York Fashion Week, the debut trailer for The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story was released earlier this week. Although the clip is only 20 seconds long and does not feature any of its star-studded cast, it certainly sets the mood for the series.

The preview begins with a close up of the iconic Miami mansion Gianni Versace lived in at the time, which is now known as The Villa Casa Casuarina, a luxury boutique hotel, restaurant and event space. There is total silence until two gunshots can be heard as the gates of the mansion begin to open, and a flock of doves fly across the screen, and suddenly everything turns blood red.

This new season of American Crime Story follows last year’s successful series, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. Both the assassination of Gianni Versace and the murder trial case of O.J. Simpson occurred in the mid-late 90s, and yet both incidents still have people’s interest over 20 years later.

It’s only a matter of time before we see a sudden influx of Instagram captions with lyrics from Migos’ famed song “Versace” and Bruno Mars’ new song “Versace On The Floor.”
