Octogenarian documentarian Frederick Wiseman is still making observational commentaries on every day life — and this time he’s looking at the New York Public Library.
“The administration has to be concerned with their politics in relation to the city,” explained Wiseman, “and they have to raise money from rich people who are interested in the library, so that makes it pretty complicated.”
He says he was also intrigued by the library’s six million books, 90 branches and numerous programs.
