UWS building bans dog paws from lobby floor

Hawthorn Park on the Upper West Side

Pup paws have no place in Hawthorn Park, a new high-rise apartment building at 160 West 62nd street.

Like many building owners, Glenwood Management has banned dogs weighing over 15 pounds from the building, but the twist is the logic of the weight limit. Every dog must be carried by its owner into the elevator, with no paws touching the lobby floor, according to Westside Rag.

And one recent applicant told Westside Rag that the new rule turned her off from renting in the building, despite was she called the apartments “gorgeous” views.

One broker said she’s heard of similar dog weight limits before at other buildings – but never rules requiring you to carry your dog Paris Hilton style. Glenwood Management declined to comment. [Westside Rag] Christopher Cameron
