Whitman penthouse in contract for $22M

21 East 26th Street, The Whitman

The penthouse at the Whitman — a four-unit boutique condominium on the northside of Madison Square Park — is in contract for $22 million to an unknown buyer.

Celebrity broker Fredrik Eklund posted the news on his Instagram account, according to Curbed. The buyers of the penthouse will be upstairs neighbors to Chelsea Clinton, her husband Marc Mezvinsky and their newborn Charlotte.

The penthouse at 21 East 26th Street first hit the market last August for an initial asking price of $25 million. The roughly 9,000-square-foot duplex has four bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms as well as more than 3,000 square feet of private outdoor space.

Besides Clinton, the other residents in the building are NASCAR’s Jeff Gordon and hedge fund manager John Silvetz, according to the website.
