Holiday House New York, an event organized to raise breast cancer awareness in the design industry, has officially opened to the public.
Earlier this week, top designers from Baccarat, Colombo Mobili, Dedar, Fendi Casa, Gaggenau and Roche Bobois, gathered to redecorate and celebrate this year’s Holiday House.
Celebrating Baccarat’s 250th anniversary this year, New York-based Amy Lau Design transformed the Holiday House parlor into a Versailles-inspired grand dining hall.
In the mansion courtyard, Holiday House founder and president Iris Dankner and designer Ally Coulter co-designed a tented courtyard space where portraits of breast cancer survivors by celebrity portrait photographer Francis Hill’s series “Clothing Immaterial” were shown.
In 2005, the Academy Mansion, located at 2 East 63rd Street, sold to Leonard Blavatnik, a financier. Since then he has opened the home for five weeks in November and December to Holiday House. – Christopher Cameron
