Dominique Ansel releases Cronut crumb necklace

Just when you thought the Cronut craze was over, celebrity chef Dominique Ansel is launching a very unique Valentines Day promotion: a limited-edition glass-vial necklace filled with brass Cronut flakes cast from the actual pastry.

Virgin Mega, an app that lets customers queue online at participating businesses, is teaming with Ansel and jewelry designer Gabriel Urist for the promotion, according to the New York Daily News.

Only one hundred of the $100 necklaces, which come with a set of Cronuts with cherry blossom ganache, sour cherry jam and citrus sugar, are up for grabs. Fifty of those necklaces will be hand-delivered in New York City, and the other 50 will be overnighted to others across the country.

The #CronutIsForever set goes on sale at 3 p.m. Wednesday. [NYDN]Christopher Cameron
