Le Cirque, one of the city’s most iconic restaurants, is now offering discounted dinners through sites like Amazon.com, Gilt City and Groupon.

The VIP-friendly Midtown eatery is now offering three levels of cut-rate dinners, the cheapest of which gets two diners a three-course dinner for just $68 — normally $98, according to the New York Post.

For $198, two diners can try the six-course tasting menu that would normally cost $310. Or, for $780, a group of six can enjoy a private six-course dinner at the exclusive chef’s table.

“We want to attract kind of a more tech-savvy, younger demographic to discover our brand,” Le Cirque International CEO Carlo Mantica told the Post. “It’s the way we look at it — electronic sampling.”

But regulars need not worry about Groupon riff-raff sullying their beloved restaurant, William O’Shaughnessy, editorial director of Westchester’s WVOX radio station, said. “You still get a lot of high rollers. And you won’t be seeing any guys with Groupons wearing their baseball cap at the table. They’ll be escorted out!” [NYP]Christopher Cameron
