Sean Penn is asking $6.55 million for his 1.42-acre gated Malibu estate. And the listings photos are leading some to question his decorating abilities.
Penn paid $3.8 million for the one-story home in 2009, according to the New York Post. It includes a formal entry, exposed-beam ceiling, master bedroom, a pool and beach access.
The New York Post calls the house “beach shack chic,” while Curbed notes that it has a “strong tract house vibe.” Even Variety dismissed the home’s interior as having “shockingly uninspired and mildly depressing middle-aged bachelor furnishings.” The Post added that Penn’s framed print of Che Guevara “that wouldn’t be out of place in a dorm room.” [NYP] –Christopher Cameron
