Splitsville Luxury Bowling Alley to open in LES in 2017

Bowling isn’t a cheap date anymore!  DNAInfo reports that the Lower East Side is getting a “luxury” bowling alley, Splitsville Luxury Lanes, which will open in mid-to-late 2017 at the new Essex Crossing development near Delancey and Essex streets. The complex will also include a 14- screen Regal Cinema theater with electronic reclining seats and padded footrests.

No word yet on what Splitsville’s New York menu will look like, but the company’s other locations in Texas, Massachusetts, Florida and Virginia serve items like Mahi Mahi with Voodoo Shrimp, Gluten-free pizzas and Dom Perignon, according to their website. Three of the locations even have a dress code after 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays that demands customers wear “shirts with sleeves please. No bad language on clothes, no combat boots.” Good luck telling LES fashionistas their Manolo Blahnik combat boots are unwelcome!

Personally, our standards for bowling alleys aren’t that high; so long as they aren’t infected with ebola, we’re happy. [DNAinfo]—Isabel Schwab
