One super is about to get super lucky. The offering prices for 220 Central Park South were uncovered in March, and while most of the apartments are the expected $30 million 3,700 square-foot glass spaces, we noticed one 1,340 square foot suite on the 18th floor has an offering price of only $5,264,503. It turns out that this two-bedroom, two-bath apartment is actually reserved for the building’s resident manager, which means that the guy who makes sure the air conditioner is working correctly is living larger than most heart surgeons.
Corcoran broker, Deborah Kern, declined to comment on the swank residence, so we don’t know whether or not the occupant of 18C will be allowed to use the building’s amenities, like its swimming pool, resident dining room or fitness center. But at least he or she will be able to sleep with the satisfaction of knowing that 58 floors above, someone paid $100 million more for the same address. – Isabel Schwab
