Yoko Ono, resident of the Dakota co-ops and widow of Beatles front man John Lennon, has filed a $6.6 million lawsuit against the co-op board of 49 Downing Street.

The board, Ono alleges, hampered her attempts to sell her $6 million penthouse in the building, which she owns but does not live in, the New York Post reported.

According to her suit, the board threw “arbitrary conditions” in the way of a potential sale to a family with children earlier this year.

Ono’s son Sean, for whom she purchased the 5,700-square-foot pad in 1995, called the spot home for a few years, but it has since remained vacant.

The board, her suit alleges, is happy with the current penthouse arrangement: an owner who pays the bills but isn’t around.

Neighbors of the unit did not immediately return the Post’s calls requesting comment. [NYP]Julie Strickland
